Volunteers make good things happen at Kilauea Point! The Refuge
relies on dozens of dedicated volunteers to assist with almost all
aspects of Refuge operations. Kilauea Point volunteers;
Inform and assist
visitors at the Visitor Contact Station
Guide interpretive hikes
to Crater Hill
Teach children about the Islands native plants and
animals
Assist biologists with important research projects
Sell books and souvenirs in the Kilauea Point bookstore
Repair and maintain facilities and equipment
Organize and assist with Refuge Festivals and special
events
Propagate and transplant native plants
throughout the Refuge
