Volunteer Opportunities

 

Volunteers make good things happen at Kilauea Point! The Refuge relies on dozens of dedicated volunteers to assist with almost all aspects of Refuge operations. Kilauea Point volunteers;

Inform and assist visitors at the Visitor Contact Station
 

• Guide interpretive hikes to Crater Hill
• Teach children about the Islands native plants and animals
• Assist biologists with important research projects
• Sell books and souvenirs in the Kilauea Point bookstore
• Repair and maintain facilities and equipment
• Organize and assist with Refuge Festivals and special events

 
Propagate and transplant native plants throughout the Refuge
